We will be covering the 2nd Declension Masculine nouns and their endings this week in Chapter 6. 5A will be continuing the Trojan War story on Thursday and there is no Latin with 5B on Friday. There will be no quiz this week.

We were not ready to take the Chapter 1-3 Test on Thursday/Friday so it has been moved to Monday for 4A and Tuesday for 4B. We will be having our discussion and reading on Friendship on Wednesday. We will continue our story of the Trojan War on Thursday with 4A. There is no Latin on Friday for 4B.
We did not get quite as far as I planned last week so their quiz will be this Monday. We will then start our study of the Spanish explorers with Columbus and Magellan (both sailed for Spain even though they are not Spanish). Later in the week we will study English explorers such as John Cabot and Sir Francis Drake. We will have another quiz on Thursday or Friday depending on how fast we progress.
We will be finishing Chapter 3 and reviewing Chapters 1-3 this week. We will practice their noun and verb endings along with our vocabulary for the Chapters. We will be having a Ch. 1-3 Test on next week Monday for 4A and on next week Tuesday for 4B. We will be reading and discussing selections from CIcero's De Amacitia (On Friendship) on next week Wednesday. Our focus for the discussion is the nature of true friendship and what separates it from just a relationship with other people.

We are beginning our unit on European Exploration. We will be covering the motives and means for exploration and the Portuguese explorers this week. There will be a quiz on Friday.
We will be taking a quiz on Chapter 2 on Monday for 4A and Tuesday for 4B. We then will begin our study of Chapter 3 which adds noun endings and more vocabulary words. We will also be learning an exciting Latin game to help practice our Latin vocabulary. Latin on the High Seas is a variation of bingo that requires students to translate their vocabulary words in order to cover spaces.
We will be reviewing Chapter 1-3 this week. 5A will be taking our test on Ch. 1-3 on Thursday and 5B will be taking it on Friday. After the test we will begin Chapter 4 which focuses on our 1st declension noun endings.
During this week in History we are going to be finishing our study of the Ancient Civilizations unit. We will finishing our notes on the Incas and on the Spanish Conquistadors. The students will receive a study guide on Wednesday to help focus their study efforts for our unit test on Friday. We will be reviewing as a class on Thursday.
4B will be exploring the story of the beginning of the Trojan War this Tuesday. Both classes will be reviewing Chapter 2 this week, practicing our verb endings and studying our vocabulary. We will be playing Latin Pictionary to practice our vocabulary. We will have a quiz on Chapter 2 next week (Week 6) Monday for 4A and next week Tuesday for 4B.
