We will begin our study of the Elizabethan Age of England this week. We will start with Henry VIII and Mary I and spend a significant time on Elizabeth I. We will also learn more about the Spanish Armada and Sir Francis Drake. There is no quiz this week but we will have a seminar on Friday on topics studied this week. Students will not have weekly packets this week but they will be taking notes in class and they will have reading assignments across the week (the reading will be provided from me).

We will be reviewing the test they took last week and starting Ch. 11 which introduces the students to adjectives. The adjective endings should be familiar since they have the same endings as the 1st Declension and 2nd Declension nouns. We will not have a quiz this week.
4th Grade will be reviewing Ch. 4-7 and practicing the noun and verb endings in these chapters. We will be having a test on Ch. 4,6, and 7 on Thursday for 4A and Friday for 4B. We will begin Ch. 8 after the test.
We will be learning about the Counter Reformation and Galileo this week. We will also be having a quiz on the Reformation up to Galileo on Wednesday. Their Reformation weekly packet will be due on Wednesday (I have extended the due date so they can study their packet in preparation for the quiz).
We will be having our Ch. 6-9 Test on Monday for 5A and Tuesday for 5B. They will have additional time for study before the test (They already received a review sheet for this test). 5B will be continuing their story of the Trojan War on Wednesday.
We will be discussing and learning about the Reformation and Counter Reformation this week. We will be learning about the lives and ideas of Martin Luther, Henry the VIII, Calvin, and Ignatius of Loyola. We will be having a seminar on Friday on the Reformation and Counter Reformation. There will be no quiz this week but they will have another weekly packet with knowledge, comprehension, and discussion questions.
We only have one class of Latin with each section due to concert rehearsals. We will be having a review on Ch. 6-9 and the vocabulary and endings in those chapters. We will be having a test on Ch. 6-9 next week Monday for 5A and Tuesday for 5B. Things to Know for test: Ch. 6-9 vocabulary, 2nd Declension Masculine endings, 2nd Declension Neuter Endings, and the Sum verb endings.
We will be reviewing the vocabulary and endings given in Chapters 4 and 6. The students struggled greatly with their Ch. 6 quiz. We only have one class day of Latin this week due to concert rehearsals.
We will be learning about the northern Renaissance outside of Italy this week, including a study of Shakespeare and Cervantes. We will be reviewing the Renaissance unit on Wednesday and we will be having a test on the Renaissance unit on Thursday.
