1st and 2nd grade will be having an oral knowledge check this week on the parts of the body we have learned so far.

(Our class was cancelled last week due to Bard Competition and we lose a class this week due to rehearsals so no change from last week's plan)

1st-2nd Only: unguis = fingernail, mentum = chin 2nd Only: Augustus = August 3rd: We will be continuing to work on Chapter 6. Next week we will have a review and a quiz on Chapter 6. 4C: We will start Chapter 8 this week, learning 10 new words and 2nd Declension Neuter endings. K-2: We will be learning new vocabulary words this week.

We will have our Chapter 7 quiz on Thursday. K-2: Scholars will be learning several new Latin parts of the body and continue practicing conjugating verbs and learning the days of the week. 1st-2nd Only: umerus = shoulder, cutis = skin, dens = tooth. 2nd Only: Aprilis = April, Maius = May 3rd: Scholars will be completing Chapter 4 and having our Chapter 4 quiz this week. 4th: Scholars will be completing Chapter 6 and having their Chapter 6 quiz this week. They will also be starting Chapter 7, learning 9 new words and the present tense endings of "sum" (I am). K-2: Students will be learning about the days of the week and how to say "Today is _________" "Hodie est______." Here are the new words of the week-Kinder-2nd: oculus = eye, auris = ear, os = mouth.
1st-2nd only: vena = vein, musculus = muscle 2nd only: Februarius = February, Martius = March 3rd: Students will be continuing with Chapter 4 this week. Students will receive their Chapter 4 review sheet on Thursday for 3B and Friday for 3A and 3C. We will be having our Chapter 4 quiz on the following Monday for 3B (October 28th) and Tuesday for 3A and 3C (October 29th). 4C: We will be working on Chapter 6 this week, learning eleven words and the 2nd Declension endings for nouns. Students will receive a review sheet on Thursday and we will take the Chapter 6 quiz the following Monday (October 28th). K-2: We will be learning the Latin names for the parts of the body and our amo, amas, amat chant, learning the present tense of the verb Amo, which means "I love".
New Words: Kinder-2nd: caput = head, corpus = body, 1st-2nd only: oculus = eye. 3rd Grade: We will review vocabulary words from Chapters 1-3 and begin Chapter 4, learning the first five vocabulary words for the Chapter. We will learn the names of the five cases, which every Latin noun has. (Five Cases: Nominative, Genitive, Dative, Accusative, Ablative) 4th Grade: We will be reviewing the vocabulary and grammar from Chapters 1-4 in Chapter 5, which is a review Chapter. K-2: Scholars will be learning the Latin name for dolphin, delphinus (del-fee-noos). 1st and 2nd Grade will also be learning the Latin name for goat, caper (cah-pair). 1st and 2nd Grade will be having an oral knowledge check on their Latin animal names and a few classes will be completing their number knowledge check that started last week.
3rd: Scholars will have their Chapter 3 quiz on Monday and Tuesday. 4th: Scholars will delve into Chapter 4's vocabulary and the five cases. They will receive their Chapter 4 review on Monday and have their Chapter 4 quiz on Thursday. K-2: Scholars will be learning new animals such as "porcus" which means pig and "ursus" which means bear. 1st and 2nd Grade will have an oral knowledge check on their numbers this week and learn other new animals such as "tigris" which means tiger.
K-2: We will be learning more Latin animals such as "testudo" (tay-stoo-doh) which means tortoise and "cuniculus" (coo-nee-coo-loos) which means rabbit. 1st-2nd will be learning numbers up to 30 in Latin.
3rd: We will be starting Chapter 3 this week learning new vocabulary words and how to decline a 1st Declension noun (to decline is to list a Latin noun's endings). 4th: We will have our Chapter 3 review on Thursday in preparation for a Chapter 3 quiz next Monday. K-2: Scholars will be learning new animals such as "taurus"which means bull and "rana" which means "frog". 1st and 2nd grade scholars will be having a knowledge check on their animals and numbers.
3rd: 3rd grade will have their Chapter 2 review and Chapter 2 quiz this week. 3A and 3C have the quiz on Friday and 3B has the quiz on Thursday. 4th: 4th grade will have their Chapter 2 quiz on Monday and will begin Chapter 3 on Thursday, learning 10 new words and how to decline a noun (listing a noun's endings). |
